Two heavyweights from opposite sides of the Pacific. Supreme and NEIGHBORHOOD have put together a joint collection, and it's dropping at the end of December at Supreme stores worldwide.
The Backstory
Shinsuke Takizawa launched NEIGHBORHOOD in 1994 out of Harajuku, Tokyo. The brand's whole deal is "basic" garments rooted in motorcycle culture, military wear, and outdoor clothing. That same year, Takizawa opened the NEIGHBORHOOD store on Cat Street in Harajuku. It's been a staple of Japanese streetwear ever since.
The Collection
Here's everything in the lineup:
- Logo Shirt — 3 colorways. The tee has a Supreme box logo alongside NEIGHBORHOOD's skull and crossbones graphic. The white version visible in photos shows the skull sitting right above the red box logo. Clean and loud at the same time.
- Baseball Jacket — 2 colorways. All satin construction. One version is all black with tonal graphics on the back and ribbed detailing on the sleeves. The other pairs a navy body with red satin sleeves, red snap buttons, and red trim at the collar and cuffs. The back of both has a map graphic with "Tokyo" and "New York" text, plus "Rebel Without A Pause" written below. The front also has "Neighborhood" script running down the sleeves.
- Selvedge Denim — 2 colors. One pair is a faded black wash, the other a medium blue. Both show distressing and a worn-in look. These are selvedge treated denim, so expect heavier weight fabric.
- New Era Hat — 3 colorways. Fitted caps with what appears to be a mix of mesh and solid panels. The photos show black, red, and what looks like a grey or white option, all featuring graphics on the brim and crown.
Every single piece is exclusive to Supreme. You won't find these at NEIGHBORHOOD stores.
The Vibe
There's a clear Tokyo-meets-New York thread running through this. The baseball jackets literally spell it out on the back with a map connecting both cities. NEIGHBORHOOD's darker, rebellious edge blends with Supreme's branding in a way that doesn't feel forced. The skull and box logo tee is going to be the most hyped piece. Guaranteed.
The collection drops at the end of December at Supreme stores worldwide. No exact date confirmed yet. All items are Supreme exclusives.
