Supreme's teaming up with Nike SB on the Air Max 2 CB '94 Low. It's a new take on Charles Barkley's iconic mid-'90s basketball silhouette, rebuilt as a low-top and made exclusively for Supreme.
The Original Air Max 2 CB '94
The Air Max 2 CB '94 was originally designed for Charles Barkley in 1994. It was one of Nike's boldest basketball shoes of the era, featuring a visible heel Air Max unit and an aggressive, chunky build. "CB" stands for Charles Barkley. The shoe became a streetwear staple well beyond the court, and it's been retroed multiple times over the years. This Supreme version takes the silhouette low for a more wearable profile.
What We're Looking At
Three colorways are visible in the image. There's a clean white pair with hits of red and a tan/cork-like interior. A full metallic gold pair that's loud and unmistakable. And a black pair with tonal details and what appears to be a polka-dot or perforated pattern across the upper. All three carry Supreme and Nike branding throughout.
Here's what's packed into the build:
- Leather upper with perforated reflective mesh underlays
- Rubber outsole with visible heel airbag
- Debossed Swoosh on the sidewall
- TPU logos at the underheel
- Padded mesh and elastic tongue with molded logo eyelets
- Rubber tongue logo patch
- Co-branded footbed with mesh collar and tongue lining
- Webbing loop at heel with printed logo
- Embroidered logo on the side
- Embossed logos at heel
That's a lot of detail work. The reflective mesh underlays peeking through the perforations should hit different under flash or streetlights. The gold colorway in particular looks like it's going to turn heads whether you want it to or not.
