Supreme is teaming up with acclaimed American artist Cindy Sherman for a limited skateboard deck release. For those not familiar, Sherman has been creating powerful self-portrait work since the '70s, transforming herself into various characters to critique how women are portrayed in media and popular culture. Her photography challenges stereotypes of female identity through a cinematic lens, and while her aesthetic varies widely, there's always that underlying commentary on mass media's treatment of women.
The collaboration features two limited edition decks showcasing original Sherman artwork. They'll be dropping at Supreme's brick-and-mortar locations in NY, Brooklyn, LA, London, and Paris, plus online on November 9th. Japan gets the release two days later on November 11th.
