Supreme is teaming up with Harmony Korine this season, which makes a lot of sense when you consider the filmmaker's deep connections to skate culture. For those less familiar, Korine wrote Kids as a teenager in New York—the film that famously captured the early '90s NYC skate scene and featured legendary skaters like Harold Hunter and Justin Pierce. He went on to direct Gummo, which divided audiences but earned recognition at Venice. Beyond film, Korine's worked across multiple disciplines including visual art, writing, and directing music videos for everyone from Sonic Youth to Bjork.
The collaboration consists of two skateboard decks featuring original artwork by Korine. It's a fitting format given the shared DNA between Supreme and Korine's early work documenting New York skate culture.
The decks drop October 6th at Supreme's NY, LA, and London stores, plus online. Japan gets them on October 8th.
