Supreme's latest artist collaboration taps into the world of M.C. Escher, the Dutch graphic artist whose mind-bending optical illusions and mathematical patterns have influenced everything from math textbooks to album covers since the early 20th century. While Escher never quite got his flowers from the traditional art world during his lifetime - critics dismissed his work as too cerebral - his tessellations and impossible geometries have become instantly recognizable worldwide, making this a particularly fitting partnership for Supreme's archive of art collabs.
The Spring collection spans eight pieces featuring Escher's intricate artwork:
- Lightweight Trench Coat
- Cotton Baseball Jersey
- Twill Short
- Hooded Sweatshirt
- Two short sleeve T-Shirts
- One long sleeve T-Shirt
- Camp Cap
The collection drops May 4th at Supreme's NY, LA, London, and Paris stores, plus online. Japan gets it two days later on May 6th.
