Supreme is dropping a collaboration with legendary Japanese artist Takashi Murakami and Kaikai Kiki artist Mr. this week. The collection features six limited edition skateboard decks total—three designs from Murakami and three from Mr. For those unfamiliar, Murakami is the creative force behind the "Superflat" movement and has been bridging high art and pop culture since the '90s through his studio Kaikai Kiki. Mr., who took his name from baseball legend Shigeo Nagashima, is known for his provocative work rooted in Japanese otaku culture that blends cute anime aesthetics with more adult themes.
The decks will be available at all six Supreme stores across New York, Los Angeles, and Japan, plus select retailers. If you're stateside and can't make it to a store, the online shop will have them starting September 20th—though U.S. customers only for the web drop. No official pricing has been announced yet, but expect these to move quickly given both artists' cult followings and Supreme's track record with artist collabs.
