Supreme is tapping legendary American photographer Nan Goldin for their latest spring collaboration. For those unfamiliar, Goldin's work is pretty significant - she's known for her deeply intimate documentation of queer life, love, and loss in New York during the AIDS crisis. Her slideshow series "The Ballad of Sexual Dependency," which she originally presented in downtown NYC nightclubs in the late '70s, became a defining work of contemporary photography. She once described it as "the diary I let people read," which gives you an idea of how personal and unflinching her images are.
The collection features Goldin's photographs across a solid range of pieces:
- Coaches Jacket
- Hooded Sweatshirt
- Three Short Sleeve T-Shirts
- Three Skateboards
Everything drops March 29th at Supreme stores in NY, Brooklyn, LA, London, Paris and online, with Japan following on March 31st. It's a meaningful collaboration that brings Goldin's powerful imagery to a new audience - definitely one of the more culturally significant drops this season.
