Supreme's linking with one of hip-hop's most important groups ever. Public Enemy and Supreme have a full collection dropping this October in all Supreme stores worldwide.
The Group
Public Enemy formed in 1982. They didn't just make music. They fueled a movement. Chuck D brought politically charged lyrics. Flava Flav brought a signature style that's still iconic. Terminator X pushed DJ techniques forward. And Hank Shocklee's production team, the Bomb Squad, built the sound behind it all. Their 1990 album "Fear of a Black Planet" gave us "Fight the Power" and was selected by the Library of Congress for historical preservation. That's legacy.
The Public Enemy logo, that crosshair silhouette, represents revolt and action. It identifies the individual under the scope of either getting snuffed or being watched by national surveillance. It's a heavy symbol, and it's all over this collection.
The Collection
Here's everything in the release:
- Full-Zip Hoodie — 25oz. cotton fleece. The front is clean black with a small logo near the chest. The back features the Public Enemy crosshair logo above a Supreme box logo. Available in black, white, and red based on what's visible.
- Pull-Over Athletic Jacket — All nylon. Three colorways: black, yellow, and red. These have a varsity-style look with striped ribbing at the cuffs and hem. "SUPREME" runs across the chest. The back panel carries the Public Enemy crosshair logo as a large patch. Early '90s streetwear energy.
- "The Government's Responsible" Tee — Black tee with that quote in large text across the front.
- Public Enemy No.1 Tee — Black tee featuring what appears to be portrait photos on the front.
- "The Government's Responsible" Beanie — Split design with the quote repeated in red and white text on one side, and the crosshair logo on the black side.
The pull-over jackets are a direct nod to an early '90s streetwear staple, and the crosshair logo on the back is unmistakable. The full-zip hoodie and beanie both use "The Government's Responsible" as their central theme. Two tees round out the project.
All items are exclusively for Supreme. Available this October at all Supreme stores worldwide.
