Supreme's latest collaboration brings some serious cultural weight to the summer lineup. The brand has partnered with the estate of Wilfred Limonious, the legendary Jamaican artist widely considered the father of dancehall art. If you're not familiar with his work, Limonious spent the '80s and '90s creating hundreds of iconic album covers and label logos for dancehall's golden era - think Studio One, Techniques, Jammy's, and countless other foundational imprints.
The collection features four graphic tees showcasing original Limonious artwork, developed in collaboration with the Limonious Estate and One Love Books. These are dropping alongside four additional summer tees, giving us eight new options total for the warmer months.
Release details:
- June 29th: In-store at NY, LA, London, Paris locations and online
- July 1st: Japan release
It's refreshing to see Supreme highlighting an artist whose influence on music and visual culture often goes underrecognized outside Jamaica. Limonious started his career doing newspaper comics and literacy program illustrations before becoming dancehall's visual voice - this collab feels like a proper tribute to that legacy.
