Supreme/Butthole Surfers

Supreme's tapping into underground rock history this week with a Butthole Surfers collaboration that spans some of the band's most iconic album artwork. For those unfamiliar, Butthole Surfers emerged from the early '80s noise-punk scene after founders Gibby Haynes and Paul Leary ditched their corporate careers for California's alternative underground. Their chaotic, experimental sound caught the attention of Dead Kennedys' Jello Biafra, who released their first EP on Alternative Tentacles in 1983.

The collection pulls imagery from four classic releases: the band's self-titled EP, Psychic... Powerless... Another Man's Sac, Rembrandt Pussyhorse (1986), and Locust Abortion Technician (1987). These albums showcase the band's self-designed artwork that's as abrasive and absurd as their music - a fitting match for Supreme's aesthetic.
