Supreme is teaming up with the estate of Frank Frazetta for a Fall 2024 collection that pulls from the legendary illustrator's iconic sci-fi and fantasy work. If you're not familiar, Frazetta basically defined the visual language of sword-and-sorcery for generations - his paintings of Conan, Tarzan, and John Carter of Mars became the blueprint for fantasy art from the '60s onward. His style mixed raw physicality with this rich, almost baroque use of color and shadow that made his barbarians, warrior women, and monsters feel both brutally powerful and strangely erotic.
The Brooklyn-born artist started young, studying at the Brooklyn Academy of Fine Arts from age eight before jumping into comics at 16. By the time he hit his stride with paperback cover art in the '60s and '70s, his work had this visceral, modern edge that set him apart - Frazetta once said he drew inspiration from the tough guys he knew growing up in Brooklyn, bringing that real-world physicality to his fantasy worlds.
