Supreme is tapping into some seriously dark artistic territory this season with a collection honoring the late H.R. Giger, the visionary Swiss artist behind the iconic Xenomorph from Ridley Scott's Alien. If you're not familiar, Giger's biomechanical style - this haunting fusion of organic and mechanical forms - defined a whole aesthetic that's influenced everything from sci-fi cinema to underground art. The guy literally turned his chronic nightmares into an Academy Award, winning Best Visual Effects for Alien in 1980. His work continued influencing major films like Poltergeist, Species, and Prometheus until his passing in 2014.
The collection spans a solid range of pieces, all featuring Giger's unmistakable artwork:
- Coaches Jacket
- Hooded Sweatshirt
- Knit Top
- Long sleeve T-shirt
- Two short sleeve T-shirts
- Two skateboard decks
Everything drops October 9th at Supreme NY, LA, London, and online, with Japan following on October 11th. It's a fitting tribute to an artist whose surrealistic vision permanently altered the creative landscape - definitely one of the heavier collaborations Supreme has put together.
