Supreme's tapping into Houston hip-hop history this week with a Rap-A-Lot Records collaboration. For those who need a refresher, J. Prince founded the label back in 1987 and basically put Houston on the map when the rap game was still heavily NY-focused. Rap-A-Lot pioneered that Southern gangster rap sound and became home to the Geto Boys - the legendary group featuring Scarface, Bushwick Bill, and Willie D. Their platinum album We Can't Be Stopped had that unforgettable cover shot of the crew in the hospital after Bushwick got shot in the eye, which became one of the most iconic images in hip-hop.
The collection itself covers the usual bases with some nice variety:
- Satin Club Jacket
- Hooded Sweatshirt
- 5-Panel Hat and Beanie
- Two short sleeve T-Shirts
- Pillow (always appreciate when they throw in something unexpected)
Everything drops April 6th at Supreme stores in NY, LA, London, and Paris, plus online. Japan gets it April 8th. They're also releasing four additional graphic tees alongside the Rap-A-Lot pieces.
