Supreme and The North Face are bringing back Steep Tech for Spring 2016, tapping into a collection with some serious heritage. For those who don't know the backstory, Steep Tech was developed in 1991 by extreme skier Scot Schmidt, who got tired of regular ski gear not cutting it for his needs. He worked with TNF to relocate pockets, reinforce materials, and add webbing - basically making apparel that could actually handle serious mountain conditions. The line ran for seven years before getting discontinued, then quickly came back due to demand from East Coast shops.
This Supreme collaboration includes four pieces that stay true to the Steep Tech functionality: a waterproof, abrasion-resistant nylon Hooded Jacket ($388), a Hooded Sweatshirt ($198), Sweatpants ($168), and a Backpack ($148). All pieces are made exclusively for this collab.
